Effective: 14 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Print Big Limited collects when you use our online store at www.printbigja.com, place an order, or deal with us in branch, by phone, email or WhatsApp; why we collect it; who we share it with; how long we keep it; and the rights you have under Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020. We have written it in plain language. If anything is unclear, contact us using the details below.
1. Who we are
Print Big Limited ("Print Big", "we", "us") is a Jamaican company that has provided large-format printing, signage, fabrication, vehicle wraps, outdoor advertising, promotional products and everyday printing since 2006. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act, 2020, Print Big Limited is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. What information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and account details: your name, business or organisation name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, billing and delivery addresses, and your account login (your password is stored in encrypted form; we cannot see it).
- Order details: the products you configure, quantities, sizes, finishes, notes and instructions, proof approvals, and your order history.
- Files and content: artwork, logos, text and photos you upload or send us, including photos for personalised products (for example, tributes, canvases, apparel).
- ID-card information: for PVC ID-card orders, the photos, names, ID numbers, job titles and similar details of the people whose cards are being printed. We treat this as sensitive and handle it under restricted rules (see section 10).
- Payment information: card payments are entered directly on our payment gateway's secure page. We do not see or store your full card number. We keep a record of the payment amount, date, method and reference. For bank transfers we keep the transfer details you send us.
- Business credit information: if you apply for a credit (pay-on-account) facility, the business, contact and reference details on your application.
- Communications: messages, emails, call notes and WhatsApp conversations with our team, and any complaint or feedback you give us.
- Marketing preferences: whether you have chosen to receive our newsletter, email offers or WhatsApp updates.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, items added to cart, and how you arrived at our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 9).
Information about other people
If you give us information about someone else — for example, a photo of a loved one for a tribute, employee details for ID cards, or a delivery contact — you confirm that you are entitled to share it with us for that purpose and, where needed, that you have told them or obtained their consent.
3. Why we use your information, and our lawful basis
We only use personal information where the Data Protection Act, 2020 allows it. In plain words, our reasons are:
- To fulfil your order (contract): pricing, preparing proofs, producing, packing, arranging pickup, delivery or installation, and keeping you updated on progress.
- To run your account (contract): logging in, saving your details and order history, and reordering.
- To take and confirm payment (contract and legal obligation): processing payments, issuing invoices and receipts, managing credit accounts and collecting amounts owed.
- To give customer service (contract and legitimate interests): answering questions, handling reprints, refunds and complaints.
- To meet legal and accounting duties (legal obligation): keeping tax (including GCT) and accounting records, and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
- To improve our site and services (legitimate interests, and consent where required for cookies): understanding which pages and products work well and fixing problems.
- To protect our business and customers (legitimate interests): preventing fraud, securing our systems, and establishing or defending legal claims.
- To send you marketing (consent only): newsletters, offers and WhatsApp updates are sent only if you have actively opted in. See section 7.
Where we rely on "legitimate interests", we balance our interest against your rights and do not use your information in ways you would not reasonably expect.
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the following, and only as much as each needs:
- Our online store platform provider, which hosts the store, your account, orders and uploaded files.
- Our payment gateway, which processes card payments securely.
- Our email provider (Google Workspace), which carries our business email.
- Analytics and advertising providers (Google and Meta/Facebook), which receive device and usage information through cookies and pixels to help us measure site use and advertising. See section 9.
- Delivery and installation partners, who receive your name, delivery address, phone number and order details needed to deliver or install.
- Outside print suppliers, for specific jobs we do not produce in-house. They receive only what is needed to make the job (for example, the print file and specifications) and never your selling price or unnecessary personal details.
- Professional advisers such as our accountants, auditors, lawyers and insurers, under duties of confidentiality.
- Authorities where the law requires it, such as Tax Administration Jamaica or a court order.
- A buyer or successor if all or part of our business is sold or reorganised, subject to this policy.
Our service providers may only use your information to provide services to us and must keep it secure.
5. Information stored outside Jamaica
Some of our providers — including our store platform, cloud file storage, email, payment, analytics and advertising providers — store or process information on servers outside Jamaica. When this happens we take steps to make sure your information receives an adequate level of protection, for example by using reputable providers with strong security and contractual commitments on how data is handled.
6. How long we keep your information
- Accounting, tax, invoice and payment records: about 7 years after the end of the relevant financial year, to meet legal requirements.
- Order records and account details: while your account is active and for up to 7 years after your last order, so we can deal with reorders, warranty questions and disputes. You may ask us to close your account at any time.
- Artwork and customer-supplied files: up to 12 months after your order is completed, so that we can reprint or reorder for you, then deleted. You may ask us to delete them sooner once your order is complete.
- Walk-in print jobs: files brought in or sent just to be printed are deleted within 30 days, and often as soon as the job is completed.
- ID-card photos and data: deleted within 90 days after the order is completed, unless you ask us in writing to keep them for reissues.
- Bereavement and tribute photos: deleted within 90 days after the order is completed unless you ask us to keep them.
- Marketing preferences: until you withdraw your consent. We keep a short record that you opted out so we do not contact you again.
- Customer-service messages and complaints: up to 3 years after the matter is closed.
- Analytics data: in line with the settings of the analytics provider, which we set to no more than 26 months.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. Marketing — opt-in only
We will only send you newsletters, offers or promotional messages by email or WhatsApp if you have actively chosen to receive them — for example, by ticking an unticked box at checkout or signing up to our newsletter. Placing an order or creating an account does not sign you up for marketing.
- Email: every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect promptly, and in any event within 10 days.
- WhatsApp: reply STOP at any time and we will stop sending promotional messages to that number.
- Any time: email [email protected] or call (876) 939-6625 to change your preferences.
Even if you opt out of marketing, we will still send messages needed to handle your orders, such as proofs, order updates, invoices and pickup notices.
Bereavement orders: we never send promotional follow-up messages connected to funeral, memorial or tribute orders.
8. How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections on our store, secure payment processing by our gateway, password-protected accounts, limiting staff access to those who need it for their work, and confidentiality expectations for our team and suppliers. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your account password private and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.
9. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies to keep you logged in, remember your cart and complete checkout. The store cannot work properly without them.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our site, so we can improve it.
- Advertising cookies (Meta/Facebook Pixel) to measure how our adverts perform and to show relevant Print Big adverts on Facebook and Instagram.
Your choices: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (blocking essential cookies may stop the store from working). You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, and manage advertising preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings. Where we display a cookie notice, you may accept or decline non-essential cookies there.
10. Sensitive information and ID-card orders
ID-card photos and details, and some personalised or tribute photos, may reveal sensitive information about people. For these jobs we:
- use the information only to produce the cards or items ordered;
- limit access to the staff who prepare and print the job;
- do not use these images for marketing, portfolios or social media without separate written permission;
- delete the files within the period stated in section 6.
If you are an organisation ordering ID cards for your staff or members, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to give us their information.
11. Children
Our store and services are intended for adults and businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to open an account or place orders. Where an order includes a minor's photo or details (for example, school ID cards or a personalised gift), it must be placed by a parent, guardian, or an organisation such as a school with appropriate authority and, where required, parental consent.
12. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2020 you have the right to:
- Access — be told whether we hold personal information about you and get a copy of it, with information about how it is used;
- Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected;
- Object to direct marketing — require us to stop using your information for marketing, at any time and free of charge;
- Object to other processing — ask us to stop processing that is causing, or is likely to cause, you substantial and unwarranted damage or distress;
- Automated decisions — not be subject to significant decisions made solely by automated means (we do not currently make such decisions);
- Erasure or blocking — ask us to delete or stop using information where the law allows;
- Complain to the Information Commissioner (see section 14).
How to make a request
Email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Request", or write to our head office. Tell us what you are asking for. We may need to confirm your identity before acting. We will respond within the time required by the Act.
13. If something goes wrong
If we become aware of a breach of security affecting personal information, we will act quickly to contain it, assess the risk, and notify the Information Commissioner and affected individuals where the Act requires, within the time it sets.
14. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first at [email protected] or (876) 939-6625 and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner (Jamaica). It can be reached at 2nd Floor, The Masonic Building, 45–47 Barbados Avenue, Kingston 5, telephone (876) 920-4390.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add new services or the law changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we will tell account holders by email or with a notice on the store.
